BioClean Duct Sanitizing Sprayer
ProAir’s BioClean Duct Sanitizing Sprayer applies duct sanitizer directly to the duct walls and allows more Bio-chemical to kill more bacteria than the traditional Fogger unit. Our system allows you to control the amount of Bio-chemical to the areas that are most important. The “end-of-line” ducting at the register is where the air pressure is at its lowest and the the highest concern of bacterial build up. for this reason, the need for increased Bio-Chemical is critical for proper duct sanitizing.
Is It Worth It to Sanitize Your Air Ducts?
If you’ve had your air ducts cleaned before, you’ve probably been asked whether you’d like to have them sanitized. So — is duct sanitizing beneficial?
The short answer: It can be, if it’s done correctly.
Duct sanitizing can help reduce the presence of bacteria, mold, and odors in your air system — but only when applied with the proper method, equipment, and product. When performed thoughtfully and after a complete duct cleaning, it can support a healthier indoor environment.
When Duct Sanitizing Makes Sense
Your duct system is part of the air you breathe. Over time, it can become a space where dust, moisture, and low airflow create favorable conditions for microbial growth. In such cases, sanitizing may offer an added level of protection — especially for those with allergies or respiratory sensitivities.
For sanitizing to be effective, three things are essential:
-
It must be applied to a clean surface — only after a full duct cleaning.
-
A registered, proven sanitizing product must be used, at the correct dilution.
-
The product must remain in the system for the recommended dwell time (usually between 5–20 minutes).
Without these steps, the benefits are significantly reduced.
Choosing a Proper Sanitizing Service
When considering duct sanitizing, it’s a good idea to ask a few questions:
-
What product is being used?
-
Is the application method designed for full system coverage?
-
Will it be applied only after cleaning?
-
How long will the product be left in the system?
A thorough and transparent process will give you more confidence in the results.
AIR DUCT CLEANING AND SANITIZING AIR DUCTS
For a cleaner, healthier air duct system in your home, a full end-to-end cleaning is essential.
At Affordable Duct Care, we use high-powered external vacuums, pressure hoses, and specialized tools to remove dust and debris from your entire ductwork system.
When choosing a duct cleaning service, it’s important to look at the method used, the company’s reputation, and whether they provide clear, upfront pricing and a thorough process.

How We Clean Your Ducts
Our residential duct cleaning process is designed to be thorough, effective, and non-intrusive. Here’s how it works:
-
Vacuum Setup:
We attach a high-powered vacuum system to both the supply and return sides of your furnace plenum. This creates strong suction to remove dust, debris, and contaminants from the entire duct system. -
System Zoning:
Your HVAC system is divided into two zones: the supply side (which delivers air into your rooms) and the return side (which pulls air back into the system). We remove the air filter temporarily to increase airflow and ensure the vacuum works as efficiently as possible. -
Sealing Vents:
All supply registers and return ducts are temporarily sealed to maximize vacuum pressure. This helps pull loosened debris directly into the vacuum system rather than allowing it to circulate through your home. -
Air Washing Each Duct:
We open and clean each register one at a time using high-pressure air tools (up to 175 PSI) to dislodge dust and debris from the full length of each duct. Specialized cleaning heads ensure full coverage. Dislodged material is immediately pulled out through the vacuum system. -
Cleaning the Main Trunk Line:
After the individual vents are cleaned, we use the same method to clean the main trunk line — the large duct that connects all the supply lines together. -
Finishing Up:
Once the system is fully cleaned, we:
-
Reinstall the air filter
-
Remove all vacuum equipment
-
Unseal the vents
-
Ensure your system is fully restored and ready to run
strong suction.

A single register is opened, and compressed air (175 PSI) with a snake/whip tool is used to “compress air wash” the entire length of the supply duct while a vacuum removes the dislodged debris. Several cleaning heads ensure the entire duct is thoroughly cleaned. The register is then resealed, and the process is repeated on all registers throughout the home.
The main trunk line—the large duct connecting all supply lines—is cleaned using the same method.
After cleaning, furnace filters are reinstalled, all registers are unsealed, zone separators are removed, and vacuum equipment is taken off the furnace plenum.
If you choose, sanitizing of the air ducts is applied using an atomizer at each supply branch and fogged throughout the ductwork. We use a product called EnviroCON, which eliminates odors at their source through a chlorine dioxide release process that destroys bacteria and other organisms. EnviroCON is EPA-registered, safe, and low in toxicity, with no perfumes or masking agents. It effectively inhibits the growth of odor-causing organisms, as well as mold, mildew, and bacterial growth in your home’s HVAC system.
